Kyra Minturn

 KyraMinturn Sedgwick, born August 19, 1965 is an American actor. Her most prominent character is that of Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded a Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson and also an Emmy Award 2010 for her portrayal. The show ended on August 13, 2012, following the completion of its seventh season. Sedgwick's role as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also noteworthy. Sedgwick received nominations for an Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film appearances include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) The Cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who is a speech/family therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick as a venture investor. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian and of English heritage. Sedgwick has declared herself Jewish and has said she is a part of Passover seders.
